Today’s
scripture: Colossians 1:19-20
God the Father was pleased to bring His children, His created children, back to Himself through God the Son, Jesus Christ.
From the beginning of time as we know it, God had a plan, a plan of salvation. Even as Adam and Eve sinned, God had a plan.
And His plan was for peace.
Now, it seems like a huge contradiction that peace would come through pain and suffering, but that was God’s plan. Peace came “through the blood of the cross.” Blood, Christ’s blood, brought us peace.
We created children of God can have peace as we’re reconciled to God through faith in Jesus.
It may not be a plan that makes sense to our human minds, but it’s a plan that makes perfect sense to God. And if we trust God, trust that He loves us as much as He says He does (John 3:16), then we can trust that, through each and every situation, we can and will find peace.
Do you find it hard to reconcile that peace comes through death, Christ’s death? Does that seem to be a bit drastic to you? Share your thoughts with God. Let Him help you through your confusion.
